Dubai Eye 103.8 UAE Road Cycling Championship 2018/2019 Crowns its Overall Champions
|The UAE National Road Cycling Championship, in its 2nd season, crowned National Champions in Open Emirati Male, Social Emirati Male, Expatriate Male and Expatriate Female for the 2018/2019 season. Stage winners and Overall Age-division winners were also acknowledged. Increasing to four stages, each stage in the 2018/2019 season was designed to create all the challenges of a grand tour with stages for climbers, time trialers and sprinters.
To emulate the feel for riders of a grand tour, the leaders jerseys for the four major categories, were awarded - yellow, red, pink and blue taking the colours from the 3 grand tours as well as the Dubai Tour. These jerseys were awarded to the leader after each stage, which created a difference to the look and feel to the peloton. Held over three months; 12th October - 77-km Mai Dubai Kalba Climb, 26th October - 21.6-km Oakley ITT (The Outlet Village Jebel Ali) , 9th November - 63-km Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Jebel Jais Climb & 7th December for the 103.8-km final stage, the Dubai Sports City Road Race.
