The UAE National Road Cycling Championship, in the first two seasons, crowned a National Champion in Emirati male and female and Expatriate male and female. The four stage championship also awarded champions in each age category in both male and female. Stages are designed to create all the challenges of a grand tour with stages for climbers, time trialers and sprinters. To emulate the feel for riders of a grand tour, the leaders jerseys for the four major categories were awarded and worn of yellow, red, pink, and blue taking the colours from the 3 grand tours as well as the honoring the Dubai Tour.

Jerseys were awarded to leaders after each stage, which made a difference to the look and feel of the peloton. 

The event will also feature result categories for Social Emirati (male): 15 - 18, 19 - 34, 35 - 49, 50+

Update: The 2019 Championship has been postponed to 2020. Dates for the 2020 Championship are; October 16, October 30, November 13 & November 27.

Dubai Eye 103.8 UAE Road Cycling Championship 2018/2019 Crowns its Overall Champions
 
The UAE National Road Cycling Championship, in its 2nd season, crowned National Champions in Open Emirati Male, Social Emirati Male, Expatriate Male and Expatriate Female for the 2018/2019 season. Stage winners and Overall Age-division winners were also acknowledged. Increasing to four stages, each stage in the 2018/2019 season was designed to create all the challenges of a grand tour with stages for climbers, time trialers and sprinters. To emulate the feel for riders of a grand tour, the leaders jerseys for the four major categories, were awarded - yellow, red, pink and blue taking the colours from the 3 grand tours as well as the Dubai Tour. These jerseys were awarded to the leader after each stage, which created a difference to the look and feel to the peloton. Held over three months; 12th October - 77-km Mai Dubai Kalba Climb, 26th October - 21.6-km Oakley ITT (The Outlet Village Jebel Ali) , 9th November - 63-km Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Jebel Jais Climb & 7th December for the 103.8-km final stage, the Dubai Sports City Road Race.
